Alexandra Moldoveanu

Alexandra Moldoveanu was born in 1988 in Transylvania (Romania). Today, she lives and works in Munich/Landshut, Germany. She has shaped paintings since her childhood in the 1990s.
In her various works, a lateral thinker style has crystallized, which led to experiments and installations containing wire and wood on canvas.

Alexandra Moldoveanu studied classical music, piano and violine along with her father Valeriu Moldoveanu, an international violonist and music professor. Alexandra crossed over from the classical painting style to expressionistic patterns and colour flows. Inspiration for her latest work was her emigration to Munich 2015, which brought radical changes in her life and work. She also had her first public exhibition in Munich, opening on April 7th, 2017 at Provisorium, Munich

"Look at abstract art in the same way that you would listen to a symphony. When you listen to music, you don’t try to hold on to the notes – you let them wash over you. Let your eyes wander over the painting the way the notes of a symphony wash over your soul. Let your eyes play with the painting, slipping around corners, following the twirls, twists and turns, dipping in and out of the surface. Let your eyes dance around the piece."
